  FAQ

  • This is not an officially approved or erected association under Church authority. It is an informal, lay-led initiative, which is fully permitted under Canon 215 and Canon 299 §1 of the Code of Canon Law. These canons affirm the right of the faithful to form associations for purposes of charity and piety. Our aim is to grow in sanctity and chastity through united prayer, in fidelity to the teachings of the Church—without officially representing the Church.

  • One may join the association as an unregistered member by simply beginning the daily prayers and monthly chaplet offered for the intentions of the Fraternity. If desired, you may also become a registered member by filling out a membership form, which allows us to send occasional updates and stay connected.

  • Our Lady of Sorrows is the Mediatrix of All Graces—mediating even the grace of chastity. For centuries, this title has been associated with deliverance from impurity, healing from addiction, and strength in spiritual warfare. The Sorrowful Heart is a way of contemplating her most pure heart under the aspect of her sufferings, yet it always contains within it the fullness of her Immaculate Heart, which Our Lady promised would triumph in the end. Her Sorrowful Heart, pierced by seven swords, is a powerful source of intercession for those striving to overcome the flesh and follow Christ with undivided hearts.

St. Michael the Archangel, Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, is our protector and guardian in the daily battle against temptation. As the leader of the angelic army, he defends us against the assaults of the enemy, especially those against purity. Alongside Our Lady, the Virgin of Virgins, St. Michael stands as a shining exemplar of angelic purity and godlike strength.

Together, Our Lady and St. Michael are our benefactors and advocates in the fight for sanctity—one as Mother and Mediatrix, the other as Guardian and Warrior.

  • Occasional lapses in prayer do not affect one’s enrollment, provided there is general fidelity. However, if one ceases the prayers entirely, they are no longer members of the association and are asked to notify us to be removed from the membership list.

  • If burning a votive candle during prayer is imprudent—due to safety concerns like small children or other reasons—it is sufficient to display images of Our Lady and St. Michael. The candle is not strictly required for membership but strongly encouraged to help drive out the demons of the air.

  • Membership is open to all males. Women are welcome to participate in the prayers and devotions, offering them in charity for the intentions of the Fraternity, but they are not admitted as members. Young men under 18 are encouraged to seek the permission of a parent, confessor, or spiritual director before enrolling.

  • Yes. As stated earlier, one may participate as an unregistered member without providing any personal information. There are many situations where anonymity may be prudent, and we fully respect that. Our desire is simply that men benefit from the mutual sharing of graces and holiness obtained through the devotions of the Fraternity.

  • No. It is completely free.

  • Other than the Morning Offering, which should be prayed at the start of the day, there is no required time for the other prayers. While it is encouraged to pray in the morning and evening, members are free to decide when to pray according to their judgment and daily circumstances.

  • You may honorably rescind your membership at any time by contacting us to request removal from the list. However, membership effectively ends when one ceases the devotions altogether.

  • Yes. Membership in this association does not conflict with participation in other prayer groups or apostolates. You are welcome to join and offer these devotions alongside your existing commitments.

PRAYER FOR THE MORNING

✠ Morning Offering

✠,✠,✠ — here draw the sign of the cross on the forehead, lips, and heart

O my God, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer Thee the Precious Blood of Jesus from all the altars
throughout the world, joining with It the offering of my every thought ✠, word ✠, and action ✠ of this day. I desire to gain every indulgence and merit I can, offering them, together with myself,
to Mary Immaculate, whom Thou hast appointed the
dispenstrix of the merits of Thy Precious Blood,
**especially by means of this Scapular
[Here kiss your Brown Scapular]**
that she may best apply them to the interests of
Thy Most Sacred Heart. Amen.

   PRAYERS FOR EVERY DAY

✠ Psalm 98— Psalter of the BVM

O Lady, thou hast become our refuge in all our necessities.

The diffusion of thy savour produces holy works, and the dew of thy sweetness brings forth chaste affections.

O Lady, I will recollect thy mercies; I will sing to thee a sacrifice of praise, and a hymn of joy.

They who honour thee will exchange their ashes for an immortal crown, and their spirit of affliction for a robe of glory.

They who hope in thee shall be clothed with light; joy and gladness shall be their perpetual lot. GLORY BE.

✠ Sub Tuum Praesidium

We fly to thy patronage,
O holy Mother of God;
despise not our petitions in our necessities,
but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Amen.

✠ St. Michael Prayer

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Prayer for Chastity by St. Thomas

“Dearest Jesus! I know well that every perfect gift, and above all others that of chastity, depends upon the most powerful assistance of Your Providence, and that without You a creature can do nothing. Therefore, I pray You to defend, with Your grace, chastity and purity in my soul as well as in my body. And if I have ever received through my senses any impression that could stain my chastity and purity, may You, Who are the Supreme Lord of all my powers, take it from me, that I may with an immaculate heart advance in Your love and service, offering myself chaste all the days of my life on the most pure altar of Your Divinity. Amen.”
