Jesus did many things not written in Scripture


John 21:2525 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written


St. Paul says hold fast to oral and written Tradition


2 Thess 2:15 (2:14 VUL)Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle


St. Paul says that the oral tradition he preached is the Word of God


1 Thes 2:1313 Therefore, we also give thanks to God without ceasing: because, that when you had received of us the word of the hearing of God, you received it not as the word of men, but (as it is indeed) the word of God, who worketh in you that have believed


St. Paul speaks highly of oral Tradition


2 Timothy 2:22 And the things which thou hast heard of me by many witnesses, the same commend to faithful men, who shall be fit to teach others also

1 Cor 11:22 Now I praise you, brethren, that in all things you are mindful of me: and keep my ordinances as I have delivered them to you


Early Christians followed apostolic Tradition


Acts 2:4242 And they were persevering in the doctrine of the apostles, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, and in prayers


The Bible is hard to understand, meaning easily distorted


2 Pet 3:1616 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable [twist], as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction


John taught doctrine orally that he did not write down


2 John 1:1212 Having more things to write unto you, I would not by paper and ink: for I hope that I shall be with you, and speak face to face: that your joy may be full

3 John 1:13-1413 I had many things to write unto thee: but I would not by ink and pen write to thee 14 But I hope speedily to see thee, and we will speak mouth to mouth. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Salute the friends by name
